Licences and users
How a workstation gets a licence
DynBrowser has no licence key and no separate login. A workstation gets its licence through the D365 environment it works with:
- Your organisation registers with DynSolutionZ the D365 environments (the addresses, such as
yourcompany.operations.dynamics.com) that belong to the subscription. - As soon as a user signs in to D365 and DynBrowser fetches its first data, DynBrowser reports to DynSolutionZ with that address.
- DynSolutionZ recognises the environment, and the user gets the pages and rights that apply to them.
Changes, such as a disabled user or other rights, arrive within about a minute.
Seats
Your subscription has a number of seats. A seat is a computer on which DynBrowser is running at that moment. So you can install DynBrowser on more PCs than you have seats; only the number of copies open at the same time counts.
- Closing DynBrowser frees the seat at once.
- After a crash the seat frees itself after about 10 minutes.
- When all seats are taken, the user gets a message and access again by itself as soon as a seat frees up.
Users and rights
- Users are recognised by the e-mail address of their Microsoft sign-in. Addresses in your organisation's e-mail domains are added as users automatically.
- In the customer portal → Users you decide who gets which pages and actions, with roles and per person.
- A user who is not recognised works with your organisation's standard rights, without extra actions and without shared company data such as templates.
Verified sign-in
By default DynSolutionZ trusts the e-mail address DynBrowser passes on. You can also require that Microsoft confirms the sign-in: DynSolutionZ then checks that the sign-in comes from your Microsoft tenant and goes through your app registration. A workstation without such a confirmed sign-in then gets no access.
Send your Tenant ID and the Client ID of your app registration (see Signing in to D365) to DynSolutionZ to switch this on. Updates always keep arriving, even when the check refuses a workstation.
Working offline
A workstation that got a licence before can carry on for up to 14 days without a connection to DynSolutionZ. After that it needs contact again.
