Orders Dashboard

The Orders Dashboard puts your production, planned, purchase, transfer and sales orders and your loads from D365 side by side. You see what is late, open an order to see its lines, stock, BOM, route and more, and keep notes and reminders on orders.

The dashboard only reads from D365. Notes and reminders are not stored in D365 (see Notes and reminders).

Order types

Choose the type with the tabs at the top:

Tab What you see
🏭 Production Production orders
πŸ“‹ Planned Planned orders from master planning, with a Product Overview per item
πŸ›’ Purchase Purchase orders
↔ Transfer Transfer orders
πŸ“¦ Sales Sales orders, or the sales quotations with the Quotations switch
🚚 Shipments Loads and shipments

You only see the tabs your administrator has enabled for you.

Filtering orders

Each tab has its own filter bar.

  1. Choose a status. The default is Active: the orders that are not finished yet (for sales, for example: not delivered, invoiced or cancelled). The list reloads straight away.
  2. Optionally enter a period (from/to) and click β†Ί. A date on its own does not reload the list.
  3. Search the list by order number, item, customer or vendor. Separate several search terms with ;.

The date the period filters on differs per type:

Type Date
Production Any of the scheduled start, delivery, started, released or scheduled end date
Planned Requirement date
Purchase Requested delivery date
Transfer, Sales Requested shipping date
Shipments Scheduled ship date

More options:

  • Right-click a cell β†’ Filter on filters on that value (Equals, Contains, …).
  • On Purchase, Filter by item filters on an item number.
  • On Sales, Line filter shows only orders with at least one line that meets your conditions. Here you also choose the Company, or All Companies.
  • οΌ‹ next to the chips saves the current filters as a preset. Click a chip to apply it. With β˜† you pin a preset to the start page.
  • Columns chooses which columns you see.

The tiles at the top

The four tiles change per tab. For production, for example: Active Orders (started + released), Overdue, Scheduled and Total loaded.

Overdue counts the orders whose date has passed and that are not finished yet: for production the delivery date (not reported as finished or ended), for purchase the requested delivery date (not received), for sales the requested shipping date (not delivered).

Important

The tiles count the orders that have been loaded, not all orders in D365. The list loads in parts as you scroll. If Total loaded is followed by a +, there are more orders than loaded. The search box and column filters don't affect the tiles; the status and period do.

The KPI button in the header hides or shows the tiles.

Reading the list

Status colours (for production):

Colour Status
grey Created
light blue Estimated
blue Scheduled
orange Released
green Started
teal Rpt. Finished
dark grey Ended

For purchase and sales, Open is orange, Received or Delivered blue and Invoiced dark grey.

Dot before a production order:

  • red: the scheduled end date (or the delivery date) has passed. Note: the dot doesn't look at the status, so a finished order with an old date gets it too;
  • orange: due within 48 hours.

A πŸ”” or πŸ“ on a row means the order has a reminder or note.

Looking at an order

Click an order. The detail panel opens with the order number, status, item and progress at the top:

  • Completion: for production the share already reported as finished; for sales and transfer the share of the lines delivered or shipped;
  • Stock (sales, transfer): green is delivered or picked, orange is covered by available stock.

Which tabs the panel has depends on the order type:

Tab For
General all orders
Stock, Units, Order settings, Where Used, Vault, Transactions production and planned
BOM, Route production, and planned when there is a BOM or route
Resource Journals, Finished Jrnl., Costs, Picking production
Lines, Warehouse Work purchase, transfer and sales
Confirmations sales
Lines / Source Order shipments
Notes production, purchase, transfer and sales
Attachments all except transfer and shipments

The BOM tab shows per line how many you can make with the available stock, and at the top Total can make: the line that runs out first.

On the Costs tab, Open in calculator opens the DynCost Calculator with the order's quantity and site.

Show in list (Alt+L) jumps back to the order in the list. With the Detail panel button in the header you decide whether a click opens the panel automatically.

More actions

Right-click an order for, among others:

  • View details;
  • Open in D365: opens the order in D365;
  • Copy order number;
  • Print… with a template from Document Designer;
  • Article forecast and Article mutations;
  • View in products page: the item in the Product Overview;
  • Add note and Add reminder.

Which actions you see depends on the pages enabled for you.

Tip

The dashboard has no export to Excel. Copy cells, rows or columns (right-click menu), or print with a template.

Notes and reminders

Notes and reminders are a separate add-on. If your organisation doesn't have it, you won't see them.

To add a note:

  1. Right-click an order (or an order line) and choose Add note or Add reminder. Or open the Notes tab and click + Add note / reminder.
  2. Type the text (up to 2000 characters).
  3. For a reminder, choose On date & time, Order condition or both. A condition can be a Status change, a Field condition, Changed from snapshot, the Stock or the Shipment.
  4. Choose the Visibility (Everyone, Only me or Specific users), the Edit permissions and the Reminder recipients.
  5. Click Save.

Good to know:

  • Notes are not stored in D365, but in a shared folder on your network (Browser Settings β†’ Global settings β†’ Shared folder path, usually set by your IT department). Colleagues who use the same folder see them. If no shared folder is set, your notes stay on your own PC.
  • If the shared folder is briefly unreachable, DynBrowser works with a local copy and synchronises later by itself.
  • A condition is checked every 15 minutes and expires after at most 3 months.
  • A reminder appears as a pop-up with Open order, Accept, Snooze and Close.
  • Under Browser Settings β†’ Reminders you choose from which order types and which colleagues you want to receive reminders. You always receive your own reminders.
