Product Overview
In the Product Overview you look up any released item in D365 and see everything about it in one place: stock, coverage and order settings, units, the BOM and how many you can make right now, routes, where the item is used, open orders, attachments and prices.
The page only reads. Nothing is changed in D365.
Finding an item
- Choose the Company at the top. With Auto you search your own default company in D365. If the company isn't listed, type it under Manual and click OK.
- Type an item number or search name in Search…. Several items at once? Separate them with
;, for example1001; 1002. - Click an item. The detail panel on the right opens.
With Products and Variants above the list you switch between items and their variants (colour, size, style, configuration, version). Each view remembers its own search, sorting and filters.
Refresh (or F5) fetches the data again.
Filtering and columns
- Right-click a cell → Filter on offers Equals, Contains, Starts with, Greater than and Clear filters, among others. You can pin a filter.
- Save preset stores the current filters under a name. Click the chip later to apply them again.
- Columns chooses which columns you see. Besides the default columns, you can add almost any item field from D365. Reset to default puts the layout back.
- The menu in a column header sorts, filters, hides the column or shows a Calculation (minimum, maximum, average, total).
The stock and vendor columns can't be sorted or filtered.
Reading the list
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Physical inventory | What is physically in stock |
| Available physical | Physical inventory minus what is reserved |
| Physical reserved | Reserved for orders |
| Cost price | Per unit. If it is followed by ×N, the cost price in D365 is per N pieces. |
| Vendor | Name, with the account number small behind it |
Numbers are green when positive, grey at zero and red when negative.
The bar to the left of a row:
- red: available is negative;
- grey: nothing available, or less than 20 % of the stock;
- green: otherwise.
The detail panel
At the top you see the item, its type and lifecycle state, and a stock line:
| Status | When |
|---|---|
| 🚨 Shortage | Available is negative: immediate action needed. |
| ⚠️ No stock | Nothing is available. Check incoming orders. |
| ⚠️ Low stock | Less than 20 % of the stock is available. |
| ⚠️ Below minimum stock | Available is below the minimum from the coverage settings. |
| ✅ Sufficient stock | None of the above. |
Next to it are the net position (available + inbound − outbound) and, if a minimum is set, 🛡 MIN. If stock is in quality inspection, a badge says how much.
Note
In D365, available means "not reserved", not "usable". Stock with a blocked status, such as quarantine, counts as available. In the Inventory tab, click a warehouse to see per location and status what is actually usable.
Show in list (Alt+L) jumps back to the item in the list. The Auto-open detail button decides whether a click in the list opens the panel.

How many can I make?
The BOM tab works out per line how many finished products you can make with the available stock, including scrap. At the top, Total can make: × N is the line that runs out first. Services and vendor lines don't count. With the warehouse picker you calculate with each line's default warehouse, or with one particular warehouse.
